Long and ardeous journey

By blueskyz
Finally, able to find the time to sit down and update the blog. There are tonnes of updates and stuffs. Well, lets get it on. First of all, the positive.

Well again? There ain't much positives now or since the last time i'd updated my blog. There is also nothing much to be happy about. Lets see.............................in fact, its almost close to zero =P The only happy moment i could relate about is my birthday. It was a surprise celebration actually, bringing me out on a steamboat dinner and then celebrating it there (though, something did not match out right). It was nice of you all guys and gals. Thank you very much =D (ps. After my one, it seems that there is a trend to surprise other guys with this kind of celebration =D). And presents? No presents, only full of hot tomyam soup in that steamboat.

But now came the un-happy stuffs which is happening to me almost day in and day out. First of all, now i understood why almost all my seniors told me to enjoy my uni first year and why the 2nd year is hellish. Hellish would be a sarcastic label to what i am "enjoying" which includes non-stop assignments and reports that they have tight regulations and procedures on how to write it as well. No longer do we have those e-tests that we used to have in the first year. Now, i only see stars during the tests =D Over the coming few weeks, the job would be tougher and tougher which ends with a test that comprise of 30% of the overall marks of one of my subjects =_=" When can i go play" =P

Other than my uni life, my personal life is also quite messed up. My food intake time is messed up, my sleeping time is messed up, my hygiene.....................don't know whether is it suitable to be called messed up. Anyway, you get the picture. The worst part is my roommate, who started to get more intimate with his girlfriend. Though he did asked about whether could he bring his girlfriend and i said yes, but how am i suppose to know that he is bringing her in on a daily basis nowadays. It's not that i really mind, but as they are around and doing who-knows-what, my movement are restricted and moreover, i need privacy. Having a girl around ain't gonna help much. Though i know i said yes to his request, but can you say no? Well, as much as i don't like it, i am going to try to wrest back the control. Can't be Mr Goody Good all the time or it would kill you.

And though it's a Saturday, my time is again restricted at all fronts. The pictures that i'd promised to upload is delayed for the moment due to some technical problems and my hp camera malfunction (have to fix it soon too.........................don't know when only =D).

And before i leave, KL's weather is getting messed up too =D

To crash or to fly?

Been a while since i've even touched this blog. Been 3 weeks since my uni started. From my last 2 semesters, i had been fooling around during this period, but for this semesters, even carefree people like me could not ignore the impending storm that was already brewing from the very beginning. In short, very busy =P

For once, my uni life had been complicated by few things.
1. New campus, nice, but yet, far.
2. Expenses increased since i could only eat at the uni's cafeteria as those old places was too far, unless i go with my friends.
3. My housemates, who brought his PS2 along and almost every night, playing games at high volumes, kind of tempt me away from study =P
4. 1 of my subjects are relatively new, therefore unable to obtain any reference in doing my reports or assignments. Usually i need only 1 day to finish a complete report, now its already been 3 days and i only figured out how to do half of it T_T
5. My roommate got himself a new girlfriend, which is a bit annoying since he often brings her to the room and sometimes he even requests me to stay away for a while for who knows what.

A few more stuffs, but i rather not talk about it.

The positives? Definitely none at all for this moment. Other than getting lost in the new campus or the screwed up timetables i have, everything is turning from bad to worst. Since my friends of the same bunch are having different timetables and subjects, its even harder to have gathering like we used to have in the past, like CC or futsal.

The classes are super boring too. Not that i hate the subjects, but the way those lecturers lecture can be imagined as cold as outer space could offer. The labs sessions are fine and quite interesting, but the Anatomy lab.............................giving bones out to us? We end up playing with those poor bones anyway =P However, if the experiments are not annoying, it would be those lab demos that would be hounding you. Their motto during the lab is "Keep Quiet or else your conduct marks would be deducted" =_=", but how do they expect us to keep quiet if we are to wait for 1-2 hours just for one reaction to occur?

The only good thing that ever happened to me is receiving a new table in my hostel =D My old table could only hold my laptop and the area for the mouse, almost thats all. So you have to imagine how i had to take off my laptop before i could proceed to place any books on the table.

However, this post sounds more depressing that usual...................................................my mistake =P Lets end this one here. Would update a more merrier one next time soon, provided i have anytime to even touch this websites T_T

Back to uni

By blueskyz
Its been a few days since i've reached KL. Weather is not that good as it is also raining almost everyday and sometimes, cats-n-dogs. Nothing much changed and nothing i would assume. Lets begin from where i left off.

On last Friday (13/7), directly on Friday the Thirteen, unlucky or unruly or un-whatever day it was, i received my last sems results. There, while logging into the webpage to view my results, the adrenaline rush, the tension, the sweat and all the usual stuffs you experience during those periods overcame me. Inch by inch the page loaded (hail to the lagging streamyx line that night), i breath in relief, as i had passed all my subjects and more importantly, scored much better than i thought i would be. Nothing is more satisfying to look at the results that does not really reflect what you had done (really, i got to admit that i did not study that much due to certain constrain last sem). Anyway, the celebration begins in earnest =D

On Sat's morning, i begin to thread my steps to the airport, knowing that i had unfinished my FF12 (............i am going to regret this). To my horror, the long queue, the who-knows-how arrangement of counters that only make the whole place congested, and moreover, show the ugliness of certain people that in-order to make haste, they selfishly crash into the line from the sides without even thinking about the people lining way in the back, somemore they have the guts to even grumble at you. Well, i just have to fight fire with fire and do anything i could to prevent such selfish people from gate-crashing from the sides and well, succeeded in frustrating them /gg. No delay this time and finally, able to get on the plane smoothly without any incidence.

On the way back, the weather is terrible with omnious dark clouds outside when we are arriving at the peninsula. The plane goes up and down, much like a roller coaster and thrilled anyone of us inside. As this is AirAsia, the strange sounds emitted from the plane, especially a loud one from one of the engines really gave some of us a fright. Nonetheless, we reached KL safely in one piece.

Then, came the opening of the uni, a new campus, a new life.....................and what better combination to be lost and late for the first class on the first day of uni. The new campus actually looked more like a uni campus compared to the old one and no more do i have to go deep underground for my labs sessions anymore. One ingenious way from the engineers of should i say, the planners is to places all the main lecture theaters underground, which means, no more reception for handphones =_=" The library is large, but still empty, the cafeteria looked more like a uni one, but with less seats and moreoever, i wonder why they placed air-cons when it was open air. Then came the com lab. As promised, they should be more computers for students. Yes, they are, but there are none in the science faculty unlike in other faculty and we had to walk all the way to the library to use the PC. I would upload some of the pics i've taken in the new campus later on.

And for the lateness of updating the blog, its due to the hectic life here. From the first day of class, there are already assignments and works passed out to us. Nothing more better than a hectic first week in uni. So until the next blog, hoped that i would not stressed out so early into the new sem.

One more thing, do visit a photo site of mine where there are pics taken uploaded from time to time into HERE

Long rest, yet lazy time

By blueskyz
Been a while since i've been here. Dusty and somehow, empty. Currently having my end semester's holiday, but its short since this is only winter holiday. Came back to Sabah for 2 weeks, and though back, well, attacked by the lazy bug and since then, been quite lazy and slacking around only =P

Well, let me bring you all back to time right after my last posts. The weather is cold and snowy, it was dark and gloomy and i held on tightly to my "textbook" rifle, dodging bullets and shelling from all my enemy "subjects". However, i'd been hit and thrown afar, yet i tried my very best to pull myself back and continue to charge towards the enemy's fortress. Finally, i've managed to pull through and manage my escape from the battlefield, but in the process, left myself deeply wounded and scarred. Well, this should sum up how my exam period were. Tried my best and hope it would be a good ending. However, for a hint, my results are releasing on 13/7.......... sound familiar? Yeah right cause its Friday the 13th =(

And people always said that when you stress yourself out during the exams, you would experience weight loss. Who says? I somehow managed to add my weight during the exams, thanks to overtime study time, which lead me to a hunger frenzy in the dead of night and a friend taught me the wonders of fast food delivery service =P Ended up eating burgers almost every night.

And right after the exams, everyone suddenly just pop up, suggesting this and that (activities). As usual, there are plenty of cyber cafes and eating outside (yeah, more weight gain). Futsal got cancelled all the time cause lack of people and finally, a party? Well, there was a party as a farewell party to a few of my coursemates who are heading to the Australian campus next semesters. Somehow, it was the boys who are doing all the cooking, and while we are doing grocery shopping, the girls ended up on a shopping spree =_=" Our theme for the dinner is JAPANESE =D And i am not sure whether you can say did the boys did a good job or not. Joshua ended up making a double strip (i meant the entire strip) of wasabi on the sushi and some people ended up choking on his maki-maki. The night went on, either chatting, watching tv or playing cards. And sorry to mention here, Nick was having a bad day (a bit sick) and ended up vomitting in Han Yet's house /gg Dead tired after that.

For the next few days before i flew back to Sabah, it was pretty much boring, walking back and forth to the uni to sort out some stuffs with the course manager and slacking off, hoping to get the deserved rest. Finally, i did went out on to have a movie. Supposedly Sim and Guan Tai was suppose to watch movies with us at the Curve, but somehow, GuanTai got a last minute meeting and could not attend. Ended up me and Foo watching Ocean 13 (This is one hell of a nice movie), then take a walk to IKEA where Foo bought some "furnitures" for the new place ( And speaking of this, i still haven't taken any photos on of my new room. Would do when i am not lazy =P ), and at night, watch another movie (Fantastic 4, not that nice). A night out for a walk ended us up in a pub, ordering beer /gg Went back and boy it was a bad experience (did not get drunk, but have an un-nice effect)

When i did get back to Sabah, well, i was still tired and just slack around. Pretty tough since i got phone calls all the time from people and friends who tried to get me out. And to make matters worst, my relatives from overseas came back to Sabah and i had to visit them and bring them go around.................well, from here, you can tell that i don't really have any nice rest =D Anyway, at least those periods did carry my fat bum off the chair often.

And then to compare, there is not much changes around Kota Kinabalu as yet, except that the road leading to STTSS got some changes. Other than that, everything is still as usual as it is, except that my i finally got a real driving license =D I only realized that my P driving license was expired and i could not drive the car at all (Though i want to, but my mum really insist me not to) Finally got my new license the last few days and now i still have no purpose to drive the car as yet =_=

However, one thing is for sure, i am back to my home, where i felt most comfortable =D And also, my parents had my old bed and chair changed =) Thanks to them too. And finally, i hope all my friends who are having their holidays now to enjoy and have fun. As for those whom i still could not meet them due to the gap in the holiday system, i still hope you all could enjoy yourself and rest to the fullest. As for me, my holidays are almost over now and i am going back to be a baked fish next semesters =D

The pressure, the run-in

By blueskyz
Currently, i am facing what all other students, from primary level to university level, dreaded of. A challenge, a barrier that we had faced over and over again, a sight so grim that you have to eat mee cup almost everyday. And yes, what i am blabbing about now is none other than exams =P

It would be a week away from my first paper and now, i am still unsure whether i am prepared enough for it. You got the feeling that you've never studied something before eventhough you did and the pressure would be pilling up day by day as the time bomb ticks away. Somehow, for me, this feeling is not that obvious anymore =_=" I felt somewhat, relax for this time, though the subjects are much harder compared to my last semester's.

My daily routine turned out to be the same everyday. Wake up, wash myself, go online to check mails and news, then head straight either to the library or to study area to study and study and study until night time, came back and start to.....................................omg, relax and watch anime T_T. Well, not sure why, but this is the trend within me =O

However, it was still a relief that i could study. Just last week, my mum and sis came to KL, main aim not to visit me actually but to take a look at my new room as well as asking for informations for my sister's education. Well, as usual, your parents came, you have to go out "teman" them, you have to bring them to places, you cannot say no to their invitation, but for me, nothing to fear about cause i took every possible free time to find a place and spend some "quality time" with my notes and books.

As for my new place, well, its bigger than my current room, way higher up ( its in the 18th floor, i am curently staying at 3rd floor), and whats more, i still don't know how my new housemate would be. When i first entered, the living room was messed up with books and notes. I don't mind much cause the exam period is on, but would i mind its not? Time will tell =D

Then jut 2-3 days ago, a concert or activity or something was going on at my uni's field. There was the usual stage and some stuffs for some activities ( i am not too sure too cause i only look afar and never went anywhere near there). It was actually an event organized by......................i also don't know =D But one thing is for sure, whenever there is a stage, there's bound to be noises. I am just wondering did the organizers know that both the uni and collage are having exams that actually starts the NEXT day? I would not know. The only thing i know is that, it's noisy and disturbing. Even the furthest end of the library the voices echo around =_=", whats more in my hostel which is even closer. Then came the only attraction that many people waited for, Daniel Lee in the flash. All my gal friends rushed out to ................ i also don't know what they did when he was preparing for his show. Bets me why, but for me at that moment, study is no.1 priority =P

And since that i'd said that study is no.1 priority, i could still blog here =P Well, my books are calling out my name now, back to tend to their "needs" =D

Totally unfair

By blueskyz
This post, i am gonna start of with rants after rants. Sorry to anyone who are involved, but well, its unfair. First of all, my lab demonstrator. For weeks, reports after reports, i came to realized something. No matter how long i spent on a report or how much info and how accurate or detailed it were, nothing seems to get her to mark my reports with marks that i should get. Other lab sessions got an average of 7-9/10 marks for their reports, why my sessions only have 3-7/10 marks? I don't understand why at all. One thing is for sure, this is surely going to drag my overall marks down pretty badly....................and guess i have to explain to my parents if my overall marks are really terrible T_T

The came the part of a lecturer of mine. Gave us a assignment before the week-long holiday. I and my friends did accordingly to what the instruction told us to do in the assignment papers, but when we get back our assignments, we were shocked to get a pretty bad mark. A few got very high marks and according to them, they went to ask the lecturer before the holidays for extra tips and those are not according to the instructions even. How we all felt cheated that time.

I am angered and dissatisfied at how this kind of system works which is clearly not giveing any fair treatments to the students. If they want to be bias, be my guess, but now its my academic results that are in the line and it should not be fooled around. Its not cheap to study in my uni too. However, as angry as i wanted to be, i don't think there is anything i could do at all. All i could do is just trying to do the best i can and give it my all. As the famous quote i liked, "The real failure is not when you fail to do something, but its when you give up doing it"

Pass away all the rants, the only thing i am worried now, or maybe 2, is my exams, which is drawing closer, and my tenancy problems. I am totally in a dilemma now. My hostel management had implemented a 1-year tenancy rule, and as said before, and known to all, you need to have 3 criterias to continue living there:
1. An outstation student.
2. A first year and last year student.
3. *Gender (well, females gets the priority).
I embarked on a "quest" to find a suitable place, but that too had been in a dilemma. There is a condo just beside my school, but its pricey. There is another condo further away, but its cheaper, yet still quite far and even further away when i move into the new campus. Other places are totally ruled out cause they are pretty far away, and since the public transports around my area is still like in a pothole, there are no possibility for me to be there. Decisions, decisions and decisions....................have to be made in a weeks or 2 time as i don't want it to meddle with my exam timetables.

And speaking of that "darn" word, the exams are drawing close. I've no qualms about it, but since my marks for reports and assignments are so low due to, as said above, i have to put in more effort into my studies <----- And Mr (myself), why are you wasting time here blogging? =P

Of course i need sometime to take my mind off to relax =D. Had been out with my friends quite often nowadays. Seems like the pressure is really kicking in XP. On Fri, right after my morning lab session, a friend of mine suggested to go ice-skating. Upon hearing those words, we guys started to stare at here, where one asked :" Are you sure? If really, you are so darn daring going ice skating while wearing a skirt >=) ". We ended up going to have lunch, then bowling and finally a movie before ending the day with a dinner =D No ice skating for my friend's sake (And i hope no one told her about what i write over here @_@).

Now time passes by quickly and time to bid goodbye to this blog. Bidding to all of you good luck and stay safe until i come and blog again =D

p.s. without realising it, my hair had grown to its record length. Never i'd seen my hair so long as to where i could tie it up XD

p.s.2. And yes yes Yes, i am an aetheist. I wonder why are there so many people who thought i was a Christian and wanted me to join their organizations/activities =_="

Busy, very busy.......................or is it???

By blueskyz
Lately i've been assigned with more and more reports, assignments and reports, all during the last few weeks before my exams. Everytime i got a new work to do, i was like " What the heck, isn't there reports i need to do for this subject already, and now he ( my lecturer ) is throwing another bombardment of works to us agian ............ =_=" ". Even with my 2 days of holiday that i had 2 days ago was not enough...................and whats more, it ruined my plans to go watch Spiderman 3 that i'd planned >=( And upon releasing all my frustration on rushing a report and assingment due today, i found out, i'd finished all my lab works (chem) in a record time of 30 minutes =D

Had plans to go out with a bunch of my friends today, but upon opening my wallet, i discovered another problem.........................$$$ problem that is. I realized that i had been quite over-spending this 2-3 weeks. Time to curb? Oh yes, i am trying to curb this problem nowadays. Seems like eating out at mamak stalls looked quite cheap. Back to the old days i guess =P

Another thing that i am quite angry at is my hostel. It seems that it is almost certain that i would not get an extension upon completing my 1-year tenancy contract. And yes, my campus hostel have the 1-year tenancy policy now. There are many stories circulating around which include giving more privileages ( easier to extend the tenancy or spaces ) to females as well as having a newer policy of giving more chances to new and outstation students. I am indeed quite mad at this kind of "corporate" universities which does not built enough hostels to the students and yet, take in more and more students every semesters. When the my uni's new campus is opened, it would be expected to double the number of current students. Nearby places rip students by over-pricing and cheaper places are quite far away. Hope i could sooth my tenancy problems before my exams, or else i would be having a big headache.

However, i do want to move out from my hostel unit as well too. Why you should ask? The reason is.............................my other housemates have terrible habits that i am sick of including just leaving plates and cups in the kitchen for weeks, not cleaning up the mess they did, even when they spilt who-knows-what gravy in the refrigerator, they did not bother cleaning it. In the toilet, they seems to have the tendancy to pee while standing and never bother to clean up "you-know-what", whats more with flushing, overall, leaving the toilets very dirty and even flies somehow are borne there. Then comes to the part they often invite their friends over and somehow, they think that there is their own home, screaming around, singing who-knows-what songs and did not even bother to take off their shoes. They smoked and make noises whole night long, even during the wee hours of the morning. Then come to my housemates. I think their ears are having problems since they always blast the volume sky high, and yes yes, even during midnight. Overall, though i wish not to critisize them ( though i did ), it's really annoying and irritating since i've been living here for about 1year already. Hope that i could move out after this semester.

But right now, nothing is more better than sitting in front of my desktop, working on my reports while sipping away a cup of mandarin orange................might be having green tea later XP Outside may be in mess, but in my room, its no where better than there.............for me =D
